Why are protein foods so vital?

The immune system, all of your vital organs, your eyes, your nails, your hair, your skin and your muscles: all are made of protein.

Muscles are the engine that burns calories. So, the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn and the more calories you burn, the more fat you burn. That’s why men lose weight faster than women, because typically men have greater muscle mass than women.

How is Ideal Protein different than other weight loss programs?

The Ideal Protein weight loss method treats weight issues at its source. By the time you reach your weight loss goal, you will have transformed your body’s ability to metabolize sugar by reeducating your pancreas to produce only the right amount of insulin needed, no more.

The Ideal Diet aims at reducing carbohydrates and fats, not protein. In so doing, it preserves muscle tissue and protects vital organs to secure their proper function. In other words, you will lose fat, not muscle.

The Ideal Protein weight loss method features up to a whopping 20 grams of protein per portion, twice as much as most of the competition.

The Ideal Protein Weight loss method features a high biological protein, complete with eight (8) essential amino acids, that recreates 100% of the biological value of a complete protein for maximum assimilation and absorption.

The Ideal Protein Weight loss method is less toxic than other protein diets because it features less saturated fats, no trans fats, no aspartame, no Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) and no Genetically-Modified Organisms (GMOs).

What is Ketosis and is it safe?

Ketosis simply means we are using the stored fat as the body’s primary source of energy. This is how out ancestors survived during famines. It is perfectly normal and safe.

The Ideal Protein Protocol provides the MINIMUM adequate amount of high-quality protein to spare muscle while the body burns stored fat for energy.

Why can't I eat fruit?

Fruit does not make dieters gain weight, but can prevent them from losing weight because of the glucose it provides the body upon consumption. Glucose is what we are trying to restrict while the body is in the weight loss phases. Fruit is, of course, packed with vital vitamins and nutrients and this is another reason for the Ideal Protein supplements that dieters take.

Fruit is restricted in Phases 1 & 2, but is reintroduced beginning in Phase 3.  The fruit drinks provided by Ideal Protein are a delicious temporary substitute until Phase 3.

How much can I expect to lose on the Ideal Protein diet?

Most dieters lose an average of 3-7 pounds per week! Depending on your weight goals and how much you'd like to lose, our coaches will prepare a personalized weight loss plan for you to meet your goals.

Why do we suggest adding salt to your meals when on Ideal Protein?

Sodium is vital for overall health and vitality, however, most Ideal Protein foods contain very little.

When clients enter the Protocol, the prepackaged, processed foods (which are OVERLOADED with sodium) they are used to eating are eliminated. Add to that the tremendous amount of salt they were used to receiving from foods such as breads and cheeses. We must get this vital sodium back into their body. ½ teaspoon of all natural pink or gray sea salt is recommended.

Dieters are encouraged to sprinkle sea salt on their vegetables or animal protein (chicken, beef, pork, etc.) at dinner, particularly if they are on a diuretic medication.

What is the source of most weight issues?

According to Dr. Tran Tien, “The cause of most weight issues in modern society is insulin dysfunction. A diet grossly disproportionate in its share of saturated fats and sugars, such as in breads, cereals, muffins, cakes, pastries, pasta, pizza, rice, corn - very much like the North American diet - causes the pancreas to produce an overabundance of insulin, which stays in the system and puts the blood sugar level in a negative balance.”

An overproduction of insulin leads to hypoglycemia or low glycemia, which in turn induces constant sugar cravings. Insulin’s primary function is to regulate blood sugar levels, however, it is also the hormone that facilitates the transport of fat (triglycerides) into the fat cells. Even worse, it “locks” the fat in the fat cell, preventing it from being used as a source of energy. Now, because the blood sugar has dropped (and we can’t access the fat as a fuel source), it creates more sugar cravings, and the vicious cycle begins again. In other words, an overabundance of insulin causes weight gain.

The protocol transforms the body’s ability to digest sugars properly by regulating insulin levels. How? By giving the pancreas a well-deserved break and by cutting out simple and complex carbs until the weight loss goal is achieved.
